    A crippled Puppy

    Outside a pet shop was a sign that read: 'Puppies for Sales'. A little boy appeared and asked the shop owner the price of a puppy.

    "Anywhere from $30 to $50," was the reply. "May i take a look at them, please?" asked the boy.

    The shop owner smiled and gave a whistle. Out of the kennel appeared Ruby, and then it trotted down the aisle of the shop, followed by five cute puppies, the last one lagging considerably behind. The boy took immediate notice of the limping dog.

    "What's wrong with that puppy?" asked the boy.

    The veterinarian had examined the puppy and discovered that it does not have a hip socket. The maimed puppy will limp the rest of its life," explained the shop owner.
    "That's the puppy i want to buy!" exclaimed the boy.

    "No, you don't want to buy that puppy. If you really want it, i would give it to you free," said the shop owner.

    The boy looked upset as he dug into his pocket. He took out a two dollar note and said, "I don't want you to give it to me. That dog is worth every bit as much as the other dogs. I'll pay you the full price for it. I'll first give you two dollars, and a dollar a month until it is fully paid."

    The store owner insisted, "You really don't want to buy this dog. It will never be able to run, jump and play with you like the other puppies."

    To this, the little boy pulled up his trousers to reveal a badly twisted, crippled left leg supported by a metal brace. He looked at the shop owner and said, " Well, i can't run well myself, and the puppy will need someone who understands."
